Know what the scan needs to capture
The Nimslo 3D camera records four adjacent views of the same moment. A wigglegram needs all four views, in their physical left-to-right order, with enough shared scene content to align them. Missing a view or mixing the order removes the smooth change in perspective that makes the effect work.
Nimslo.app can start from one image containing the complete group or from four separately exported images. The best choice is the one that preserves the film cleanly and consistently.
Scan the Nimslo negatives
- Clean dust from the film and scanner surface without scratching the negative.
- Keep the film flat and the row of four views as straight as practical.
- Capture all four views and leave a modest amount of film border around the group.
- Use the same exposure, colour, sharpening, and noise settings across every view.
- Export a high-quality JPG, PNG, or TIFF within the upload size shown by Nimslo.app.
More scan resolution can preserve detail, but it also creates larger uploads and cannot restore detail that the negative or scanner did not capture. Choose a resolution that gives the subject clear edges at your intended output size, then stay within the displayed file limit.
Prepare one strip scan
The simplest input is one image in which the four Nimslo views are clearly visible as a horizontal group. Keep the whole group upright, include the divisions between views, and avoid cutting into the image content. Nimslo.app will find and extract the individual views.
Do not combine unrelated scans into the same file, and do not rotate individual views inside the strip. If automatic extraction cannot reliably find four frames, export the views as four separate files instead.
Prepare four separate files
Export exactly four images and keep them in the original left-to-right lens order. A simple naming pattern such as 01-left, 02, 03, and 04-right makes that order obvious when selecting the files.
Apply the same crop shape to each image and leave useful overlap around the intended subject. Avoid independently straightening or perspective-correcting each view: differences introduced during editing can be harder to align than the original camera geometry.
Check the files before uploading
- All four views show the same exposure and scene.
- The view order moves consistently from the left lens to the right lens.
- No view is mirrored, accidentally duplicated, or rotated differently.
- The subject is not clipped at a different edge in every frame.
- Each file opens normally and stays inside the upload limit.
